.. and Dosh Dosh is the best example for that. They have new design from a month and it is superior. Browsing this site, reading articles is more fun and relaxing time.
It is simple and very effective. We got there simple colors, white background which is best for reading text, part for 125×125 ads, simple top menu with only main sub pages and nice sidebar.
Main Part
In main part there are 8 posts with nice short image of what we find inside (with small images btw). Sidebar starts with RSS subscribe as it should start on every blog, next in sidebar we got recent posts, top 10 of best stories (plus for that) , some services show, like Digg, Twitter, StumbleUpon and that is it. To make design look better they also add some nice fonts to titles in sidebar, choose good colors and that is it for main website. It looks very clean and we should focus on main text, not the design tweaks.
Single post
When we open specific post then we see how they serve single post (and they do this very well). Post has great CSS format, everything looks simple and attractively. Under main post part we have related posts and some tweaks that we can use with post. Under we have a place for comments with gravatars support and all comments with basics rules for that. Everything done in 100% good, simple but efficient.
Some tweak for us
As simple tweak that we can see there and use for our website i choose Why Subscribe link. They have more than 16.000 RSS users and I am pretty sure that that link help them to increase this numbers..
When we click we see short benefits about Web Feed Subscriptions or Email Subscriptions.. I think most of blogs should have this kind of page for RSS beginners.

“why subscribe” is definetly worth having. But even more is a good and plain design that makes what you want to stand out do so - I still lack the skills to produce a good enough theme, but, well practice makes perfect. Maybe the current design of DoshDosh is not simpler than the old one but it is much more appealing :).

Yes it is much more appealing and when i go there i am relax to read those great posts. I think that for this kind of websites where we have new stuff going on from day to day (or even hours) simple design make it perfect for readers like me.
I am looking for a designer able to rewrite a new wordpress theme for my blog. I can pay if necessary. Do you know someone really creative?

I also love the simple designs. I designed some wordpress themes for the community but I always tried to keep that as simple as they can.
As for the new face of Dosh Dosh, I love it. He inspired me for a new design for my personal blog.
You know what, i love the old times when i change my themes, see other blogs, get inspired by them and make something with my site design.. old good times hehe
Dosh Dosh really made great job for them. Simple designs was here with blog community for a long time but nowadays i don’t like new simple designs in 80% but Dosh Dosh really make it ideal.
I agree, simplicity is still the best.Simple is clutter free. and easy to understand.
