Today i swith my Samsung SyncMaster 192T (19 inch) to new iiyama monitor (22 inch widescreen). I choose iiyama ProLite E2200WS and i’ve made my decision very fast, one day for it.
I would like to say how the new toy works but i got some hardware problems and i can’t use it with 100% good.
In the first place when i turn it on it doesn’t work in my Vista with native resolution (1680 x 1050) . I try with and without iiyama drivers. But i know why, DVI and 1680 x 1050 have problems because my graphic card is not so good. I got an old Saphire Radeon 8500LE, really old… but i don’t play games. So my ATI card has no drivers for Windows Vista, no Radeon 8500 series is supported. I’ve installed some days ago drivers, i don’t know what version, probably for XP installed with compatibility in Vista.
I read that with graphic card setup (like gamma) you can switch this monitor to really nice hardware, also DVI should and must be use (i choose version with it and pay for that also). So i can’t tell you how this monitor works, i need to figure it out how to solve my hardware problem and then see all the pluses and minuses.
I am really a big fan of good monitors (it starts with ADI 19 CRT monitor with Sony’s Trinitron patent) so stay tune and wait for review of this iiyama ProLite E2200WS.
