AdSense Revenue Increases 200% by filtering MFA sites

I found today on great Digital Point Forum great tip (not first tip found there), how to increases AdSense revenue. You can really earn more if you use this tip.

First open this page: link.

Here is cupid9 post about this (copy&paste from forum), so all the credits goes to him (i’ve add links to original forum thread).

And this is his blog: http://malaysian-students.blogspot.com.

1. Visit your own sites showing AdSense

2. Right click on the ad title and copy the link location (if you’re using FireFox)

3. Paste the link location in your text editor, I suggest using the Notepad

4. In my case, I get this very long link location. Identify the destination url of the ad.

5. Copy the destination url of the ad and load it into your browser

6. See whether the destination page is a Made-For-AdSense (MFA) site. How?

If the destination page satisfies any of the criterias below, it’s a MFA site and you should filter it as soon as possible.
- The page has no content but only blocks of AdSense, AdSense for Search and AdSense Referral
- The page has very very limited content like a paragraph of words but many blocks of AdSense on top of it / around it
- The page has a few links to other sites with block of AdSense on top of them / around them
- The site doesn’t add any value to your user’s online experience (this one is quite subjective)

7. In my (this) case, I have identified it’s a MFA site. So I add allthehealth.net to my filter list. BTW, AdSense team, do you mind to change the name of the filter from ‘Competitive Ad Filter’ to ‘MFA Filter’ since I believe ‘MFA Filter’ is more appropriate/suitable/relevant to most AdSense publisher.

8. Do not add www[dot]allthehealth[dot]net or
http://allthehealth[dot]net/health/6/health/health/Health[dot]html to your filter. Instead, add allthehealth.net to block all ads from this site. Read here.

9. Check your site 4 hours later (as suggested by AdSense) or one day later (as suggested by me) and repeat all the steps above until all AdSense ads appearing on your site add true value to your users’ online experience.

10. Check your AdSense two weeks later and you’ll see significant increase in your AdSense earnings. If you AdSense earnings remain the same, then congratulations to you because you’re a responsible webmaster taking care of your visitors’ online experience. If you AdSense earnings decrease, then you should make a big decision in your life on which one is your priority: your visitors’ online experience or your online revenue (AdSense earnings). If online revenue is your top priority, then I suggest you to join MFA industry, one of the fastest growing and most welcomed by Google industries in the world.

Tip creator is cupid9 and here is the original post on forum:
AdSense Revenue Increases 200% by filtering MFA sites.

This can really help you if you find ads that are showing on your sites on that MFA black list. Then you can put them away and earn more

I’m just wondering by doing so, are we clicking on your own Adsense?

  2. 2 ahsoon Oct 6th, 2006 at 9:07 am

    HijackQueen,
No you can NEVER click the ads yourself! Normaally there will be an URL below the ads, just jog it down and type it in a new browser (or even the same browser) then you may know if that is a MFA.

    Hope that help.

    This is good advice.

Though I have heard that if you black list too many, such as with a blacklist ‘list’, then your site may not show up any ads at all!

    Just a thought.

This is a very great article.
It isn’t against Google’s TOS nor it is blackhat to filter out websites you don’t like.
People saying this obviously don’t understand this post.

Good suggestions, especially since zero value MFA sites like alatest or web500 give a terrible user experience. Already got several mails from visitors complaining about misleading ads, so thanks for this hint, my visitors will appreciate it for sure!

I can’t see this being blackhat, those who complain are probably those running zero value websites like these.

Good advice for fellow Adsense publisher. Using ‘Competitive Ad Filter’ we can do it wisely.

But we know all the best people around the world are working in Google. And they know which is better - “do you mind to change the name of the filter from ‘Competitive Ad Filter’ to ‘MFA Filter’” Because According to your intention we are working for only adsense; but we may have business website as well with good traffic. For me - I have own website for business and when I saw there is and opportunity for this then I put adsense code on my site.

Your published Article is good ( copy & paste) But you can change this words also - “Google industries in the world.”.

    Thanks in Advance.

Nice tips. I wonder whether earning will decrease since the left spot is served for low bid ads.

    Great tip.
I’ll try this out and see if it affects my Adsense earnings.
Hope this will work fine with my little site too.
    Thanks man.
