CSS Optimization: Make Your Sites Load Faster for Free
- great article that can help you with CSS optimization.

Why ? Because this makes your pages load faster.

Many broadband users might not think this matters much, as most websites seem to load fast for them, but if each site you went to loaded even 10% faster, think of all the time it could save you over the course of a week, a month or even a year. The bandwidth savings for the website operator can also be immense.

I’ve used this website compression method introduction by Dru. It really works but to use it you must create files and upload them to server, so it takes some time.

But it is worth to use it.

It is really important to optimize the CSS file of your website. I was playing with that when i got only one website which i put all my time to it, but now when i have several pages i forgive some of this small details, like for example CSS tweak.

There was many CSS optimization websites always and I’ve tried some of them and one works better and some creates bugs with CSS files.

Most of this CSS tools just switch your human readable CSS code to cramped file so try to remember and make a backup to easy change something in CSS if you want.

And the conclusions are:

CSS optimization is a very valid form of speeding up downloads without having to sacrifice much (just legibility). With the average dialup user downloading at 3kb/s, savings of just 10kb can mean the page loads a stunning 3 seconds faster. And just imagine ESPN with savings of almost 18kb. Multiple by the large traffic the site gets, and those are some real solid promotion-worthy savings. So while this may not be important whilst you use a broadband connection, just you wait until you go visit your grandparents.

Now when i read this Make Your Sites Load Faster for Free article i try to optimize my CSS files again on every website i have.

You can also read the debate about this on digg here: CSS Optimization: Make your site load faster for free (this is one of the reason i love the popularity of digg service).

Harm that i got banned.
