Who told you that you cannot improve your WordPress admin panel. With Yellow Swordfish plugins you can add drop down menus to admin panel. You can even choose drop down menus specially for your theme (theme that you use in panel).
WP Admin Drop Down Menus - Native Theme
If having to click the mouse twice and load two pages just to get to where you want to in the WP Admin interface drives you mad, you can try these drop down menus. Hover over the main menubar and the options for that selection drop down - one click and you’re there.
WP Admin Drop Down Menus - SpotMilk Theme
The SpotMilk WP Admin Theme is extremely popular and with good reason. It is very elegant, clean and consistant, making good use of specific browser features.
This plugin allows the drop down admin menus to be utilised within the SpotMilk theme.
WP Admin ‘Autumn’ Theme
Not perhaps as elegant as SpotMilk but if you’d rather have the colours of early autumn then you may like this theme.
Includes the drop down menus (as described above). This theme is really just simple CSS modifications.

Very nice improvement, it works nice and smooth
The new version of the plugin looks even better. It’s like a part of WordPress, it works so well. It would seem weird now to not have it on.
